We can not predict the market.   We will do our very best to see that we help you merchandise your cattle to their heights value.   Each week we have buyer representatives from Excel, Monfort, IBP, and National.  We will call you when your cattle come on the show list.  We will also help keep you informed as to information affecting the market while your cattle are on the show list.  We are presently working with Consolidated Beef Producers to join with other producers to better negotiate with packers.  Any cattle that are identified as non-performers will be merchandised to a market that we feel will get you the best price.  Also, we will be glad to assist you in developing a risk management plan.

Starting mid-summer 1999, McLean Feedyard, Ltd. will become one of the first Certified Angus Beef {CAB} licensed feedyards in Texas.   This program will allow producers who have pens cattle that are 50% Angus or Angus cross to participate in the CAB program and qualify for potential premiums through sales on grids with IBP, Excel, National & Monfort.   The producer would pay a $2.00 fee on the cattle tagged CAB and will get individual carcass information on the whole pen.  For more information on this program contact Laphe LaRoe at the feedyard.
