JA Sample Bloodlines

JA was a foundation remuda.   Mares still have great JA studs such as Claude and Favorite Hand on their papers.  The story is that Montie Ritchie saw a young Joe Reed bred stud in the town of Claude in '51, liked him and purchased him.   The stud had already bred a few mares and Claude's stud colt named Senor George  proceeded to win cutting and AQHA events for twelve years (see JA Remuda).   Claude became famous, his colts were in great demand, but Ritchie kept him on the ranch to produce quality ranch horses.

Senor Super Smoke died before breeding season of 2000.   He was replaced with Tip Some Gin a 99 own son of Tanquery Gin with Peppy San and Gray Dee Bar on the bottom side.  Tanquery Gin has consistently produced all around great ranch horses.  Tip Some Gin was as cowy as any horse we have ever seen and we have a few fillies out of him.   Unfortunately, he got cut up and foundered while at the vet.

Replacing Tip Some Gin is Stylish 2000An own son of Docs Stylish Oak whose dam was an own daughter of Little Peppy with Grey Badger and Docs Lynx blood, as well, Stylish is as good as his papers.   He is dog gentle until he pins his ears and goes after a cow.   In 2004, Stylish 2000 was entered into some Ranch Cutting Horse Association events and, for a young horse, with only ranch training, he and Billy did very well.

We used Red Jolly Rancher, a stud that is 25% Blue Valentine for a few years and have his blood in some of our mares.   Red Jolly Rancher is one of the easiest handling and easiest traveling horses the JA has ever owned.

The JA trades breedings with the O'Brien Remuda.    Hybrid vigor with the best bloodlines is producing great cow horses.
